The property is noted for its outstanding location, ample space for large groups, and charming character. Guests appreciated the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and various amenities. However, some found the cost high and mentioned challenges with the Aga stove and inadequate fans in warmer weather.
The property
Cotswold House is a very special townhouse perfect for a celebration, holiday or a weekend escape extremely well placed in the heart of Moreton-In-Marsh which serves as a superb base to explore the Cotswolds from. This is a very special and award-winning holiday home, which has recently been refurbished. Set in the heart of Moreton in Marsh, Cotswold House is very much the grand (and perfect) Cotswold Retreat, presented beautifully and stylishly with huge, spacious rooms, fabulous floor-to-ceiling windows and all within a hop, skip and jump of Moreton's many restaurants, pubs and shops. In fact, we'd go as far to say this is one of the most unique and attractive holiday houses anywhere in the Cotswolds. We absolutely adore it and it appears so too do previous guests who voted it the Cotswolds Best Holiday Cottage at the Cotswolds Concierge Awards! The building dates back to the early 19th Century and while many features remain, today it is fitted with some stunning touches - oak flooring, a fabulous kitchen with marble worktops ideally placed in the house backing onto the south-facing garden. Each of the rooms are unique, with a flair that demonstrates the owner's creativity and film-making background! Downstairs the ground-floor rooms have a lovely flow, perfect for entertaining or simply 'hanging out' before you pootle off to Moreton. Upstairs the bedrooms, which are spread across two floors, and are a joy. There is ample off-road parking, plus you're just 2 minutes from the train station which whisks up from London in about 1 hr 25 mins. This is an excellent holiday cottage in every respect, perfect for a family or for a group who fancy a home for a 'proper' holiday or equally perfect for a short weekend trip to the Cotswolds. Step out the front door and within two minute's walk, you are immersed in Moreton’s diverse selection of local Restaurants, Pubs, Cheese & Wine Merchants, Artisan Bakers, an Award-winning Coffee shop, Antique shops and even a fabulous interior shop not forgetting three supermarkets close by too. Everything is on the doorstep. Cotswold House is a 10 min drive to the fabulous one stop feel good Eco Organic playground 'Daylesford Farm' which offers a huge selection of Farm Groceries, Artisan Breads/Cheeses, basically a foodie haven which ticks all the boxes and has something for everyone eco / organic children’s toys, kitchen/homeware, candles, garden plants, a Restaurants, a Lounge Bar, a Cafe, a Juice Bar plus lots of takeaway yummies to keep you fuelled and If you want to unwind book into the Bamford Spa for a massage, facial or a Meditation class.
