Axminster is conveniently situated on the main London Waterloo trainline. From its station you can hop on the train west to the historic city of Exeter, with its stunning cathedral and vibrant quay, well worth a visit for a day or evening out. Venturing East will take you to the towns of Yeovil and Salisbury.

Axminster is also home to a range of independent shops, as well as larger supermarkets, perfect for stocking up on essentials for your stay. Located only a short drive away in neighbouring Kilmington, is Millers Farm Shop, selling a wide choice of local produce and fresh meats with the on-site restaurant a popular spot to stop for a bite to eat.

Rosemarie Annexe is located within the East Devon AONB, providing a wealth of walking and cycling opportunities such as the nearby location of Trinty Hill.

A short car ride away brings you to the seaside town of Seaton, with its mile long seafront and beach which is popular with beach goers and those wishing to enjoy a spot of sea fishing or paddle boarding. Here you can also access the South West Coastal footpath where you can enjoy its breath-taking views along the Jurassic Coast. Seaton is also home to the stunning Axe Estuary and the Seaton Wetlands centre, both providing a haven for birds and wildlife.
It is also the beginning of the unique Seaton heritage tramway, that follows a route alongside the river Axe, passing through the wetlands to the historic market town of Colyton.

You could also hop over the boarder to Dorset, where you can visit the iron age hill fort of Lamberts Castle with its picturesque views across the Marshwood Vale and out to sea. Or visit the historic seaside town of Lyme Regis where you can spend a day at the beach, take a stroll along its famous Cobb Harbour wall, or follow in the footsteps of Mary Anning and try your hand at fossil hunting.
