On a sunny day, sit out in the pretty enclosed garden behind the cottage where you can eat alfresco around the table. You are only five miles from Plymouth city centre here, with its wide choice of restaurants and shops to browse. There is plenty going on, with a big theatre, cinemas, the historic Hoe to explore and the National Marine Aquarium. For outdoor activities, you are spoiled for choice. Bovisand Bay has a sandy beach, as does Wembury with its rock pools to explore, bathing waters and marine conservation centre. There is golf nearby, or head to Mount Batten for all sorts of water sports at the activity centre beside the marina.
