Summary

The holiday let is highly praised for its cleanliness, peaceful rural location, and excellent hosts. Guests enjoy beautiful surroundings, abundant wildlife, and ample walking opportunities, especially for dogs. However, a negative experience regarding an unexpected cleaning charge has been noted, raising concerns for future visitors.

The property

Narracott Down is a delightful two-bedroom detached property sitting within the owner’s private grounds in South Molton, Devon. Ideal for a family or group of friends who wish to experience an eco-friendly retreat, the 30-acre grounds are a haven for a wide variety of native flora and fauna with a stream running through the length of the valley, feeding 9 pond lakes of varying sizes. The nature reserve is a sanctuary for any homeless wild animals. The upper part of the valley is an official country wildlife site, which recognises the high biodiversity value. Narracott Down was built in 2024 and has been sensitively designed, with natural and local materials. The open-plan living space benefits from natural lighting as well as the doors onto the covered veranda, creating a great social space to enjoy whatever the weather. As night falls choose from the ground floor king-size bedroom (which can be arranged as two 2ft 6in single beds on request) positioned next to the family bathroom, or the first-floor master bedroom with its super-king-size bed (which can be arranged as two 3ft single beds on request) and en-suite shower room. In addition, there is a sofa bed in the open-plan living space, providing flexibility for your party. The holiday let contributes to local ecotourism, and comes under the council's policy to promote some inland sustainable eco-tourism to relieve congestion in coastal towns and allow people to enjoy the beauty and benefits of George Nympton, South Molton, whilst supporting the local economy. We've supported local community by using local companies & materials. Within easy reach South Molton the 'gateway' to the Exmoor National Park has a wide range of amenities including shops, pubs, and restaurants. South Molton attractions include the award winning Pannier market (twice weekly), Quince Honey Farm, Castle Hill Gardens, Exmoor Zoological Park, Lynton and Barnstaple railway, South Molton Museum and nearby golf courses. Exmoor National Park is situated to the north and is renowned for its undulating moorland and pastures, dissected by rivers and streams running down through deep wooded coombes to the spectacular and world-renowned north Devon coastline (Valley of the Rocks, Lynton and Lynmouth, Ilfracombe) featuring the wonderful beaches at Woolacombe, Saunton Sands and Crow Point.
