4 Coastguards Cottage is a big house in a row of five in the little village of Inner Hope 1/3 mile from Hope Cove. Close to the beach and Coast Path, it is roomy accommodation converted from two coastguards’ cottages in a picturesque setting. Head up the steps to the front door and you will find yourself in the big kitchen with a dining table to seat everyone, or go on through to the welcoming sitting room with its cosy traditional wood burning stove. At the end of a fun and busy day on the beach head upstairs to sleep peacefully in four bedrooms sharing a family bathroom and the downstairs shower room. You have plenty of outdoor space to front and back of the house, with a safely enclosed garden at the front with lawn and a barbecue and outdoor furniture on the patio, as well as an enclosed courtyard at the back where you can pile your surf and beach gear when you come back from the shore. This is a brilliant place for a seaside holiday with two beaches within 200 yards, where you can launch boats and kayaks and play with the toys and beach games which are thoughtfully provided at the house. Venture further and you can easily find a different and lovely beach for every day of the week if the mood takes you. Salcombe is a fashionable and nautical little town which is great for interesting shops and eateries and you can walk there along the cliff top via Bolt Head. Maybe tee off for a round of golf on scenic courses at Bigbury or Thurlestone. Or why not simply relax, enjoy the beautiful thatched cottages and shoreline and forget your worries for a while? 4 Coastguards Cottage is a smashing base for all the family to find something to amuse them.
