The market town of Bideford is nearby and offers shops and quayside cafes or hop on a boat to the wildlife haven of Lundy Island or a coastline cruise. The vast expanse of sandy beach at Westward Ho! makes a fabulous day out for sun-worshippers, toe dippers and surfers. The beach has a high pebble ridge which separates it from Northam Burrows where golf lovers can play on the oldest links course in England and enjoy the views at the same time. A trip to the old fishing village of Appledore or the cobbled streets of Clovelly are wonderful browsing days with winding streets and art galleries galore.
