The property
Applestow Cottage is a wonderful character property nestled right in the heart of Northam, a popular village on the North Devon coast.
Perfect for families and couples alike, this pet-friendly accommodation provides a fantastic base to explore the best this area has to offer. The cottage itself is located in a conservation area between Westward Ho! with its award-winning Blue Flag beach and amenities and the charming fishing village of Appledore, you really will be spoiled for things to see and do.
The cottage carries a plaque for being the birthplace of J.H Taylor, five times British Open golf champion and a recent top-to-bottom restoration of the accommodation makes for an unforgettable stay.
Step inside to discover an inviting living / dining area with comfortable seating, arranged in front of an original Victorian fireplace with wood-burner. Keep warm and cosy during those colder, winter months whilst catching up on your favourite TV series; enjoy one of the complimentary games provided or simply pour yourself a glass of something nice and enjoy catching up with family and friends.
Meals are made easy at Applestow, which comes equipped with a wonderfully inviting shaker-style kitchen, complete with stylish quartz work-tops and several high-end appliances making cooking convenient and enjoyable, allowing you to rustle up delicious meals with ease. For the foodies, you will also find many recommendations for great places to eat locally in the owner-provided Guest Information Book.
During the warmer summer months, enjoy the intimate courtyard garden and make use of the patio set provided whilst tucking into morning pastries, tea and fresh coffee. Evenings are also a great time to use this space and enjoy some good conversation or simply the tranquillity after a sun-filled, beach-swept day.
When the evening finally draws to a close, look forward to complete rest and relaxation in either one of the cottages two luxurious bedrooms, dressed in premium crisp white bed linen. The master bedroom benefits from a King-sized bed with a 3,000-pocket sprung Flaxby mattress made with all natural materials perfect for a deep, sound night’s sleep.
Both bedrooms are serviced by a wonderfully sympathetic Victorian family bathroom, where you can savour a moment of relaxation in a soothing bath or take a refreshing shower and prepare for a new day of adventures ahead.
Please note that parking is on-street only and the cottage itself is located on a narrow access road. Once unloaded, guests with larger vehicles may therefore prefer to park on one of the nearby streets such as Lenards Road, Burrough Road, or Chope Road.
