It is idyllically set amongst old English woodlands and is nestled in the Devonshire banks of the River Tamar looking out into Cornwall. Situated within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just 1.5 miles from the Devon village of Bere Alston, this riverside cottage has plenty of character with a stone fireplace and a woodburning stove. The master bedroom at this Tuckermarsh cottage commands a magnificent view over the river and the surrounding countryside, whilst a single room commands the same view from a lower level. A third single bedroom overlooks gardens and woodland. The outside area at this Bere Alston cottage is stunning, as it boasts a well-tended garden with a private wooden deck and a floating jetty, providing access into the river, especially for canoeing, at all tides. Take a leisurely canoe trip downstream (canoe not provided) under the great viaduct and on past Calstock, then stop at Cotehele, a well-preserved medieval manor house with gardens and quay. Alternatively, venture upriver to the beautifully restored ancient mining hamlet and quay of Morwellham, with its informative visitor attraction with rides deep into the mines. From this Bere Alston cottage, networks of public footpaths enable walkers and birdwatchers to experience a sense of peace in beautiful natural surroundings, whilst just a short stroll downstream is a seasonal ferry across the river into Calstock.
