Summary
Customers appreciated the location and cleanliness of the property, as well as the welcome pack. However, some noted maintenance issues, including damaged walls, heating confusion, and cleanliness standards. Suggestions for improvement include better key management, water temperature control, and earlier check-in times.
The property
A spacious period cottage located in one of the most picturesque and popular areas of Brewers Quay in Weymouth which plays host to a few festivals throughout the year.
Several steps from the front door is the Old Harbour where you can try your hand at crabbing with children. In the summer months you can barely see a free spot along the harbour to do so! Watch the famous lifting Town Bridge going up every two hours (you can check the times on the bridge itself) and admire this unusual mechanism allowing boats and yachts in and out the Marina.
Bright, airy and lovely decorated rooms with harbour views, the well-equipped kitchen and sitting room with dining table for you to enjoy a tasty evening meal or family breakfast - all together make a perfect holiday home in Weymouth for you to experience.
There is a selection of restaurants, cafes and pubs, perfect for trying the freshly caught sea food. Visiting one of the traditional fish and chips is a must too.
Walk along the Harbour and you will reach beautiful Nothe Fort and gardens where you can enjoy a picnic and an afternoon stroll. The town centre with its high street shops and local individual shops, cinema and bowling are a leisurely stroll away, as is the golden, long and sandy award-winning main beach with its shallow bathing waters.
Venture further along the esplanade, on your left you will see RSPB Lodmoor which makes a good day out spotting a variety of wildlife. Further you will reach Preston, a beautiful suburb of Weymouth which is popular with water sports enthusiasts Bowleaze cove and sandy beach. If you walk towards West, you will reach the National Sailing Academy as well very popular with sports enthusiasts. Either path you take, you can be sure of the beautiful scenery that will be leading the way.
Just short drive away from Weymouth is the market town of Bridport and county town of Dorchester with array of shops, from high street to local businesses, beautiful narrow streets and museums. Not too far from Bridport is the popular place of West Bay with gorgeous cliffs and pebble beach. If you wish to explore further, you will reach two very popular locations for fossil hunting – Charmouth and Lyme Regis.
