The property
This compact and cosy, detached restored barn is set in the grounds of the owner's cottage in the attractive East Dorset village of Sturminster Marshall. The imaginative conversion features a lovely, bright double bedroom with a charming beamed and vaulted ceiling and an en-suite bathroom. From here, a glazed door opens out onto your private, south-facing patio, a sunny place to relax over a cup of coffee while you plan your day's activities. In the evening, after your busy day out, treat yourselves to some good food and real ales at the nearby local pub. You can then return to your comfortable cottage where you can snuggle up in front of the warming woodburning stove. You're not short of things to do from this charming cottage; within two miles is the Iron Age fort at Badbury Rings giving panoramic views of the Dorset countryside and nearby is the National Trust property, Kingston Lacy House and Gardens. Take a fascinating boat trip around Poole Harbour and its islands or explore the stunning Dorset Jurassic Coast from Poole towards Weymouth and beyond. Have a relaxing day and browse the colourful array of stalls at the famous three day market at Wimborne Minster, or take the gentle drive up through Blandford Forum and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Blackmore Vale, beloved by Thomas Hardy. A delightful, bijou cottage offering a comfy and cosy holiday base at any time of the year.
