The property has a lovely character and good location but is marred by cleanliness issues and maintenance problems. Guests reported unpleasant odors, mold, broken appliances, and an overall lack of care. While it is cozy, improvements are needed for a comfortable stay.
The property
This delightful semi-detached character cottage - over two hundred years old and built of Lakeland stone, is in an excellent, quiet location, on the outskirts of Ambleside. It is within easy distance of the village centre and offers many opportunities to enjoy fine walking in the surrounding hills without any need to use the car. The other half of the 'semi' is also used for holidays.
With a good choice of local restaurants, good pubs and cafes, Ambleside has everything for the visitor in any season. Whatever the reason for your stay, if you are looking for a comfortable base from which to explore the whole of the Lake District National Park we are sure Fellside Cottage will fit the bill.
