Rothay cottage is a cosy traditional stone terraced cottage situated in the quiet hidden gem of the Millans Park area of Ambleside, just a short distance form the vibrant cafes, shops, restaurants, pubs and cinemas available in this popular lake District National Park village. This charming Ambleside cottage is ideally located for families or friends wishing to discover the majestic Lake District countryside. Set over three floors, this rural cottage has 1king size bedroom (first floor) and a second-floor twin bedroom and sitting room that maximises the breath-taking views of Wansfell, with glimpses of Kirkstone Pass. Relax just taking in the stunning views, or enjoy the smart TV or selection of maps, books, games and jigsaws in the cosy room. The ground floor boasts a good sized hallway for coats and those muddy boots. There is a well stocked excellent kitchen and a bright, airy dining area with patio doors leading out to a small enclosed patio area—a wonderful space to sit with a cup of coffee as you plan the day's activities. As the evenings draw to a close, a king-size bedroom awaits you to catch your night's rest, while the bathroom provides plenty of space to indulge with a leisurely soak in the bath or a refreshing rinse in the shower, both on the first floor. A few minutes walk from this Ambleside cottage will take you to the beautiful Rothay Park set in tranquil surroundings, with the River Rothay tumbling alongside, a perfect place for a dog walk. Walk along the river, cross the stepping stones, and you will come to Rydal and Grasmere beyond. Walks directly from the cottage include Loughrigg and Wansfell Pike. Ambleside is located at the top of Lake Windermere, and steamboats depart regularly to take you to Bowness and Lakeside. With the pretty Lakeland villages of Hawkshead and Elterwater within a half-hour drive, Rothay Cottage is the perfect base for your Lake District holiday at any time of the year

Rothay Cottage is a lovely, three-storey home located in Ambleside, in the heart of the beautiful Lake District National Park and nearby a pub in Cumbria. Grasmere 4.4 miles; Windermere 5.1 miles; Keswick 16.7 miles.

Over three floors. 1 x first floor king-size. 1 x second floor twin. First floor Bathroom, with bath, separate shower and basin and separate WC. Kitchen/ Diner with patio doors to back patio. second floor cosy sitting room with stunning views over Ambleside and over to Wansfell Pike and Baystones. Enclosed rear patio with outside seating

All bed linen, towels, tea towels, electric and gas included. Kitchen – electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/ freezer and smart TV in dining area. Nespresso coffee machine with initial supply of coffee pods (pods available in Ambleside), and cafetiere. Welcome pack – cloth, scourer, dishwasher tablets, bin bags, washing up liquid included. Sitting room – amazing views over Ambleside, Wansfell Pike and Baystones, smart TV, selection of maps, books, games and jigsaws. 2 well behaved dogs welcome. Parking – roadside parking available on Millans park, free overnight 6pm to 10am. Daytime - local 1 hour free disc parking - parking discs available free from local shops. Vehicle access to directly outside the cottage door is available but limited to loading and unloading as shared with other cottages. Parking permit available in the property allows parking in several public car parks. Wifi in the property. No smoking. No electric car charging at the cottage – charge points are available in Ambleside. Note: check in 3pm, check out 10am. Note: Due to the cottage age, style and character the staircase has smaller than modern treads. (There are 2 steps leading into sitting room and twin bedroom), this cottage is not suitable for children under 4 years old and for guests with limited mobility. Note: Cottage is off Millans Park up a small incline, small gravel road with minimal street lighting. The cottage has an outside light.
