Why not spend the day at the small town of Ulverston, where you can test your swing at the superb gold course, see your favourite characters at Laurel and Hardy Museum and browse gift shops along the bustling, cobbled streets. Surrounded by mountain peaks and pretty villages is Lake Windermere, here you can tour the large lake, have an action-packed time at the Windermere Outdoor Adventure Centre and revisit childhood tales at The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction.
