When it’s time to eat, the kitchen/diner has everything needed to produce hearty food for the whole family with a rustic dining table and chairs, the perfect spot to pull up a chair and tuck in. Should the sun be shining, the rear patio garden is ideal for sitting out and soaking up the sunshine. This is the beauty of Acorn Cottage: it’s a holiday home for all weathers whether it’s curling up in front of the woodburner in the winter or enjoying the sunshine in the courtyard in the summer. When it’s time for bed, guests can choose from a twin and a king-size on the first floor with a fabulous second-floor king-size which has a gorgeous roof light where you can watch the stars from the comfort of your bed. In the morning after a healthy breakfast, you’re ready to get out and about exploring. Take a stroll into bustling Windermere and have a browse, or why not hop on a boat for a tour of Lake Windermere? Don’t forget your camera for some stunning views along the way. The Beatrix Potter Experience is well worth a visit for any younger guests and other attractions worth visiting include Wray Castle, Blackwell Arts and Crafts House, Lakes Aquarium and Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway. Walks, hikes and bike trails aplenty can be found in Grizedale Forest with Fell Foot Park and Scott Park ideal for some fresh air.
