The accommodation is described as lovely, central, and cozy, with a clean and spacious environment. However, noise from early morning deliveries and late-night gatherings were significant issues that could deter future bookings. The property
The Bakers Loft is a wonderfully appointed, first-floor apartment resting in the centre of Grasmere, offering a great base for touring the Lake District National Park. The apartment has been completed with an elegant interior design to make a welcoming space for a family to return to after exploring the surrounding lakes and fells. Climb the 16 external steps to the entrance and be welcomed into the contemporary, galley-style kitchen containing an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, a dishwasher, allowing you to cater for yourself for the duration of your visit. Enjoy your down time within the bright and airy sitting/dining room, where two plush sofas are situated around the TV and windows offer pretty views over the village. Joining this space is the dining table, set up for four people, making a great spot for enjoy a local takeaway, a delicious home-cooked meal or pulling open a map and planning the next day’s adventure. Once the evening draws to a close, catch your rest within the king-size bedroom and look forward to waking up to the refreshing colour palette each morning, also complete with views of the village and plenty of storage to keep your things. Concluding the interior is a twin bedroom with zip/link beds, which can be made into a super-king-size bed on request and a sleek family bathroom, with a shower over bath, basin and WC. Tear yourself away from this charming abode and immerse yourself in your surroundings by exploring the bustling village, boasting a superb selection of interesting shops and tearooms, accompanied by takeaways, restaurants and bars to suit all ages and tastes. Whilst here, be sure to visit the famous Grasmere Gingerbread shop to pick up a sweet treat and the Grasmere Lake which is one of the smallest lakes in the National Park. For a taste of history, visit the nearby former home of the William Wordsworth, which boasts a museum with guided tours and pretty gardens, or visit Wordsworth's rustic family home of Rydal Mount, where you will find displays of his work and portraits. Travel south to Ambleside to find a larger selection of amenities and attractions including the scenic waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force and the Ambleside Roman Fort, before visiting the town of Windermere, home to the largest natural lake in both the Lake District and in England.
