Explore your tranquil woodland surroundings, head to Windermere Lake, less than a mile away, for a pretty lakeside stroll, and venture to Hawkshead for a selection of shops, pubs and eateries. The lakes of Windermere and Coniston Water are just a few miles away, as is the National Trust's Hill Top, the 17th century farmhouse that was once home to author Beatrix Potter, while Grizedale Forest offers charming woodland walks and exhilarating tree top adventures.
