The property

A traditional bungalow, set back from the road and tucked away on a peaceful lane, just a short walk to the heart of the popular market town of Rhayader. A perfect base for family or friends looking to enjoy the stunning Cambrian Mountain countryside, yet being close to a busy town and having somewhere peaceful to return to after a busy day. This welcoming property has three comfortable bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a well-equipped kitchen which leads into a garden room with woodburner and out onto the patio, meaning that you can make the most of this holiday home whatever the weather. Separate to the garden room is a spacious sitting room with dining area enabling you to relax in front of the TV after a day exploring the area. Outside, you can sit in the deceptively spacious garden, which gives a real feeling of peace. You can unwind on the patio on a sunny evening and chat about your day’s adventures with a glass of something cool. Rhayader has a great selection of restaurants, bars and cafes, along with independent shops. The River Wye runs through the town, which opens up a myriad of activities such as wandering along The Wye Valley Walk, one of the many walks emanating from the town, river fishing and a local Red Kite feeding centre. You’re ideally placed to explore the fabulous undulating countryside being in the heart of the Cambrian Mountains and just a short 10 minute drive from the imposing industrial magnificence of the Elan Valley reservoirs and Victorian dams, which are set in 46 acres of wildlife rich countryside, perfect to take in the beauty of the night skies with its dark skies status. The area offers numerous outdoor activities such as wildlife spotting, exploring local nature reserves such as Gilfach, which has a diverse range of habitats, fishing, walking, cycling and horse riding. Slightly further afield, you are less than a 20 minute drive to Builth Wells, home of the Royal Welsh Showground with numerous annual events. Within an hour’s drive, you can either take a day trip to the famous literary town of Hay-on-Wye on the edge of the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons), feel the sand under your feet at the Victorian seaside resort of Aberystwyth or explore the magnificence of the National Trust's Powis Castle.
