Summary
The property provided a comfortable stay for a family of five, featuring beautiful views of the river and a clean, well-equipped environment. Guests enjoyed the quiet location and local dining options, though some appliances were not functional and the patio had weeds. Overall, a positive experience with intentions to return.
The property
Si-Yr-Afon is a delightful cottage situated in the scenic village of Beddgelert, Gwynedd a short distance away from the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. This pet-friendly property has a woodburning stove, and glorious river views so is ideal for a family getaway to explore North Wales. Walk straight into the endearing living and dining area with several sofas to choose from. Make sure to settle into your holiday home by watching the Smart TV on the wall. Once you’re ready, utilise the kitchen to whip up a meal before settling in front of the woodburning stove for a relaxing evening. To see out the night, sit outside on the patio or on the balcony and enjoy the rippling river against your ears. Once that starts to send you to sleep, three bedrooms upstairs are ready to offer you sweet dreams. You’ll find essentials after a wander into the village of Beddgelert down the road as well as pubs, restaurants, etc. for a drink or bite to eat, not forgetting a multi-award-winning ice cream parlour. Make sure you get to the Craflwyn Nature Reserve to explore the fantastic trails and the Sygun Copper Mine, where many of the inhabitants of Club Street and other miners’ cottages in the village worked. On your stroll around, get a picture with the statue of Prince Llywelyn’s legendary hound Gelert. Then take a ride on an old-fashioned steam train at the Beddgelert Welsh Highland Railway. Porthmadog is a short journey away for a day at the beach soaking in the sun on the warmer days. The kids can get up to all the seaside activities they desire. That can be followed by a trek with something a bit extra as you’ll be joined by some furry friends at Black Rock Llamas. Enjoy a gentle walk through the harbour with traditional fish and chips in hand. Slightly further afield Caernarfon is a great day out for all the family as it is home to the bustling Caernarfon Castle. The Fun Centre is available for the kids to enjoy some chaos before a picturesque walk along the Pier Landerne. Of course, be sure to check out the beauty of Snowdonia National Park during your stay. Book a joyous family stay at Si-Yr-Afon today.
