The property
Llanberis 5.2 miles. Ty Mawr is a fantastic holiday cottage resting in Dinorwic, Gwynedd, with breathtaking views across to Anglesey and Ireland. Boasting an enviable location just a stone’s throw from Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, it features a welcoming living space adorned with characterful, exposed beams and four beautifully appointed bedrooms, perfect for families or friends looking to explore all that North Wales has to offer. Begin your getaway by parking in one of three off-road parking spaces, then step into the heart of the home, where you can unwind in the welcoming sitting room on the corner sofa in front of the TV and the soothing glow of the woodburning stove. Later, head into the fully equipped kitchen to help prepare a delicious meal for the group to enjoy around the spacious dining table; if the weather permits, why not enjoy a spot of alfresco dining on the patio? Here, you can savour the meal and the spectacular views before raising a glass to your getaway and admiring the sunset over Gwynedd. When the sky darkens, step back inside to wash off the day in either the ground-floor shower room or the family bathroom on the first floor, before catching up on some well-earned sleep in one of four bedrooms. Choose between a single on the ground floor, two doubles, and a further single on the first floor; in the morning, your adventure really begins. Stock up on all your self-catering essentials in the nearby village of Llanrug, and perhaps even enjoy a night away from the kitchen with a tasty meal at Y Glyntwrog Inn. There are endless things to do from Ty Mawr: head to Llyn Padarn for beautiful walks around the lake, or take to the water on kayaks and paddleboards; you can even enjoy a spot of open water swimming while you’re there; Snowdonia Watersports offers equipment hire for those interested. If you’d rather spend your time walking, then you’re in luck, as Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) is within reach, as is the station where you can take the train to the summit. Other nearby, must-visit attractions include Zip World at Penrhyn Quarry, the National Slate Museum, and Dolbadarn Castle. Create cherished memories at Ty Mawr!
