The property

Resting on the outskirts of Llanerch-y-medd, in the heart of the Isle of Anglesey, is this romantic semi-detached annex, Drws y Gorlan. With far reaching country views, Drws y Gorlan is a scenic base within easy reach of some wonderful sandy beaches, ideal for couple seeking to explore the beauty of the Isle of Anglesey. As you step into the property, you are welcomed by an open-plan living space with a quirky dining table to enjoy some breakfast before a day out and chairs so you enjoy an evening of television, and a kitchenette so you can prepare a picnic to take to the coast; load the slow cooker ahead of your day and return to the delectable scent of the fruits of your labour. Take a few steps up to find the handy washing machine and the bathroom where you can soak in a bath or freshen up under the shower. When the evening draws to a close, climb up to the first-floor where there is a double bedroom, with storage for guests to unpack and a stylish en-suite shower room for guests to have an extra bit of privacy. Outside there is off-road parking on a shared driveway, and a private patio with furniture, barbeque and fire pit so you can enjoy an evening under the stars. Take a short drive into Llanerch-y-medd to find a shop for any self-catering essentials, or two pubs, a café and a fish and chip shop for when you fancy eating out. Whilst in the area, be sure to visit the stony landscape of Parys Mountain, home to a network of trails through the ancient copper mine that once produced more copper than any other mine across the world; follow the path to the top of the Great Opencast and take in the panoramic views across the colourful excavations, stretching as far as the peak of Yr Wyddfa (Mount Snowdon) on a clear day. With a plethora of walking, hiking and cycling trails on your doorstep, you're in an outdoor adventurer’s paradise! Embark on a cycling adventure and follow the 36-mile circular tour of Route 566, known locally as Lôn Las Copr, passing the only working windmill in Wales en-route, or follow the Anglesey Coastal Path as it runs parallel along the dramatic coastline of the Isle of Anglesey through varying terrains including towering sand dunes, coastal heaths and ancient woodland, offering the best views of the unspoilt scenery decorating the sought-after isle. Head towards the east coast to enjoy the pebbled beach and Old Fishermen's Cottages at Moelfre, or the sandy beaches and shorefront eateries at Benllech and Red Wharf Bay. If you're looking for a two-footed adventure, take a scenic walk around the country paths and freshwater of Llyn Cefni and Llyn Alaw, or head for the hills of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park or the more local Mynydd Bodafon which is a great spot for a picnic. Within driving distance, you can spend an afternoon up close with the animals at Pili Palas Nature World, discover the 13th century castle and Victorian jail at Beaumaris, or take a stroll around the wonderful Anglesey Model Village. On your way back stop at the ancient woodland in Llangefni, with a dingle and an area filled with the rare and native Red Squirrel. Enjoy everything that the Isle of Anglesey has to offer with your loved one, with the wonderful Drws y Gorlan as your base.
