Outside a small, enclosed courtyard garden is a lovely suntrap - a peaceful spot to sit and relax with a glass of wine, after a busy day out exploring. Conveniently situated, a five-minute walk along the lane brings you to the local pub serving food, a real bonus if you don't feel like cooking. Also nearby, Beacon Farm Ice Cream Farm and Tea Rooms is sure to be a big hit with everyone! The immediate area has a superb network of public footpaths, including the ancient monks trod, that led the monks to Whitby Abbey in days gone by. Cyclists are also well catered for, with the surrounding challenging terrain. Just a few minutes' drive brings you to Whitby, with its long sandy beaches, quaint streets, alleyways and cobbled market square. The town has much to offer, with restaurants, tea rooms, museums, pretty gardens in Pannett Park and an historic harbour. Climb the 199 steps up to Whitby Abbey or take a bracing cliff top walk along the Cleveland Way. For something a little different, why not book a night time ghost walk, or a whale watching trip?
