The property
This striking, 19th century, Tudor-style terraced property has been renovated to an extremely high standard and retains many of its original period features. Destiny Rose is situated in the coastal resort of Whitby in North Yorkshire and is ideal for a family or small group wanting to explore both coast and countryside; well-placed for seaside days out as well as walks and bike rides through the North York Moors National Park. Destiny Rose is just a short walk to both the beach and the town centre, making it a wonderful base for an adventure filled break. With off-road parking available for two cars, walk through the front gate and past the pretty front garden, Entering the property, there is a welcoming hallway with a monks bench shoe store and coat hangers. On the right is the doorway to the sitting room which is tastefully decorated with chandelier lighting, leather sofas and arm chairs to relax on and a large bay window adding to the spacious feel of the room, while the feature fireplace complete with gas fire gives a cosy feel along with a smart TV and a large collection of DVD's. Heading straight through to the dining room with seating for six, with period furniture with a selection of books and games, this is the perfect place to gather for meals together, or to just sit quietly in a chair and enjoy a good book. The contemporary country-style kitchen is beautifully styled with a stunning wooden beamed ceiling and exposed wooden flooring, with all the appliances and amenities you could wish for during your stay, even a two seater breakfast bar. A ground-floor shower room with electric power shower is a great way to prepare for each day and a convenient utility room that opens into the enclosed courtyard that features a 5 seater hot tub, completes the layout of this floor of the property. Upstairs, 3 spacious well equipped bedrooms, one with a smart TV, 2 comfortable superking doubles, while the third is a generous single. The large white family bathroom suite with grey tiled flooring is spacious and bright, with a bath and shower over, so you can choose between a relaxing soak and a quick rinse to prepare for the day. Heading up the stairs from the landing leads to a bright eaves bedroom with two single beds, ideal for younger guests, together with its own en-suite cloakroom, two velux windows and ample storage. Heading outside, there is parking on the road at the front, as well as private off-road parking behind the property, while the rear courtyard garden has patio furniture for alfresco dining and a fabulous 5 person hottub. Whitby town is full of amenities, all of which are within easy reach of the property, including a selection of pubs, restaurants, cafés, supermarkets, convenience stores and takeaways. There are many popular attractions and day out opportunities from your doorstep, with the Captain Cook Memorial Museum, 199 Steps, which offers wonderful coastal views from the top and the ruins of Whitby Abbey are all just over the Whitby Bridge. Enjoy the Dracula experience with a spooky guided walk and learn more about the history of the town, jump on a boat from the River Esk out to sea, where you may be lucky enough to see some whales, see the Whalebone Arch, a whale jawbone replica that has been drawing visitors since the mid-19th century and if you're a keen golfer, Whitby Golf Club is close by. Whitby Beach is the main attraction in the summer, with its striking and colourful beach huts lining the sand and two lighthouses stood at either side of the harbour, perfect for a day of laying on the sand or taking a dip in the sea, or just for a stroll along the coast. The post-industrial town of Middlesbrough is to the north, with an art gallery and museum, as well as great shopping and a range of eateries, bars and pubs.
