The property

This stunning three bedroom apartment, dating back to the 17th Century, boasts a prime location on the cobbled Church Street in Whitby’s atmospheric Old Town, close to the famous 199 steps and many quaint shops, tea rooms and restaurants.

Families and friends will fall in love with the old world charm of this stylish property and its environs.

Approach via a flagged courtyard. A staircase leads to a delightful kitchen with dining area, a lovely spot to enjoy lazy breakfasts and chat about your plans for the day.

The kitchen leads to an inner hallway which in turn leads to a spacious sitting room. The beamed ceiling, original wooden floors and fireplace, as well as some lovely antique furniture, create a marvellous sense of history. Relax in comfort and imagine the place in times gone by. From the window, there’s even a glimpse of the harbour and sea.

To the upper floor is a gorgeous, light-drenched king-sized double bedroom with en-suite shower room with double shower, basin and WC. Luxury and period features abound, with a decorative original fireplace, two sash windows and stylish wooden floor.

There are two twin bedrooms with full size 3′ beds. The rooms are tastefully decorated to create a tranquil feel, with smart roman blinds and cosy carpets.

The house shower room has a corner shower, basin and WC.

Whitby’s iconic Abbey and St Mary’s Church are in the immediate vicinity. Meander over the swing bridge into the harbour and take a coastal cruise to see Whitby a different way.

The pretty fishing villages of Staithes and Robin Hood’s Bay are within easy reach. A steam train ride from Whitby to Grosmont across the stunning North York Moors is a must. Further afield, history lovers will be enchanted with Castle Howard, location for ‘Brideshead Revisted’ and, more recently, ITV’s ‘Victoria’.
