Check out Whitby Abbey which is famous for its 199 steps and is steeped in history and you won’t want to miss a visit to the Captain Cook Memorial Museum. The North Yorkshire Moors are on the doorstep so it’s worth lacing up your hiking boots and heading out for some fresh air and spectacular views. Towns nearby worth jumping in the car for a day out include Scarborough, York and Guisborough.
