Summary
The cottage offers a relaxing retreat in peaceful surroundings with comfortable accommodations and friendly owners. While the cleanliness and location are praised, there are mentions of poor bedroom lighting and a lack of available tools. The area provides enjoyable walking opportunities.
The property
This charming ground floor annexe is situated in the small village of Yearsley situated between the market towns of Easingwold and Helmsley in the North Yorkshire area. Attached to the owner's home, the property benefits from its own private patio area, where you can sit with a cup of tea and watch the sun rise, or indulge in a good book. Entering the property, be welcomed into an open-plan living space, with a leather sofa to curl up with your partner and use the TV to while away the hours. The compact kitchen has all the necessary appliances needed to cook up some delicious meals, to be enjoyed at the dining table over a well-deserved glass of champagne. From here, you will find a king-size double bedroom, which has been individually styled with a light decor, matching bedside tables and lamps, and a large window which gives an abundance of natural light. Delight in the en-suite shower room with deluxe fixtures and fittings for enjoying a relaxing end to a tiring day. Nearby you’ll find Yearsley Woods which is a great place for walkers, as well as Castle Howard, a beautiful historic home with gardens worth visiting. Take a tour of the Howardian Hills AONB and the North York Moors National Park, home to a variety of country sites for walking, hiking, cycling and even mountain biking opportunities. Further afield is the coastline and the bustling seaside towns of Whitby and Scarborough, both exhibiting a large number of attractions and lovely sandy beaches. Just over half an hour's drive away is the charming historic city of York, hosting a large number of popular tourist attractions, that are a must-see experience. Choose to visit the medieval York Minster cathedral, the National Railway Museum York and even Clifford's Tower York, once used as a prison, each boasting a wealth of history. For a fun-filled day out, you can enjoy a guided tour through York's Chocolate Story, or test your survival skills in York Maze. Cartwheel Cottage is an excellent choice for a romantic break to the beautiful North York Moors.
