The property

Ponteland 6 miles. Enveloped by open countryside, near the village of Ponteland in a superb region of Northumberland, is Fenwick Lodge, a Grade ll Listed Building, the former gatehouse to Matfen Hall. Located next to the owner's home and with easy access of the historical landmark Hadrian's Wall, and the cultural cities of Newcastle and Durham, this chocolate-box cottage is perfect for well-earned break in the country. The house boasts some beautiful aspects, such as the stone gatepiers at the entrance, the coat of arms above the front door and a ha-ha wall, which preserves uninterrupted views of the landscape beyond. Head through the church-style entrance hall, which has an exquisite tiled floor, arched windows and the original front door welcoming you inside. You can fully relax within the cosy sitting area on return from one of your many adventures, the open-plan living room is rather spacious with everything you could possibly need in a self-catering holiday let. Cook up a romantic meal in the well-equipped kitchen and enjoy a candlelit dinner at the dining table before climbing up to bed later in the evening. When you have finished dining, why not take the opportunity to gaze up to the stars? Fenwick Lodge is located so close to the Northumberland International Dark Sky Park, which will take your breath away.
