Resting in the pretty village of Norwell in rural Nottinghamshire, is this quaint, award-winning, 16th-century home, Auld Cottage. Boasting character in combination with modern features, such as the eco friendly air source heat pump, this cottage is a lovely base for two couples or a family seeking a relaxing pursuit, with lots of historical landmarks, rolling countryside and attractive towns to explore. The ground floor of Auld Cottage is finished with quarry style tiles with underfloor heating, ensuring a toasty feel throughout. Be welcomed into the delightful sitting room, where a woodburning stove sits with an original recess, and a sumptuous sofa and TV is perfect for an evenings entertainment. An open plan kitchen/diner, offers further character with a range style master stove, rustic window seat and central dining table for enjoyable meal times. Climb the hand-crafted oak staircase to the first floor and discover two attractive bedrooms, each with double beds and served by a contemporary shower room with sleek tiling and a walk-in shower enclosure. Get to know your surroundings better by venturing on a leisurely stroll through the village or countryside lanes. The village is home to a local pub, The Plough, which offers hearty well-priced food as well as a children's park, a church and beautiful gardens at Norwell Nurseries (open in summer months) Explore further and join the Trent Valley Way, a long-distance walking path which is perfect for those keen ramblers, with a wealth of wildlife to spot along the way and charming scenery to admire. Just over seven miles away lies the town of Newark-on-Trent, where you can embrace the rich local history as you tour the imposing establishment of Newark Castle and Gardens, and wander the galleries of the local museum. The stunning minster town of Southwell is also worth a visit, home to an architectural jewel that is the Mister church, boasting some of the finest medieval stone carving in England. If you fancy a chance of scenery, visit the city of Lincoln where you can sample a range of excellent eateries and shopping facilities,cobbled streets as well as along fabulous attractions such as the Victorian prison and castle and the Guildhall and Stonebow, an early 16th-century town building which forms an archway over the main High Street. Off road parking for 1 car( additional on street parking on the opposite side of the road) This is a historical cottage with sloping ceilings upstairs and some low beams.
