Outside, there’s a sheltered and private courtyard and you are free to stroll the beautiful gardens which are teeming with birdlife and the occasional visiting sheep from the neighbouring farm. Cyclists are well catered for as the cottage sits at the base of Rowsley Bar, which is listed in the top 100 climbs in Britain. The Peak Shopping Village designer outlet is just a few hundred yards away, and some of the best gastro pubs and fine dining restaurants in the region are within walking distance. The majestic Chatsworth House is less than 3 miles away, and head a few miles in one direction to amble around the pretty market town of Bakewell or a few in the opposite direction to enjoy a ride in a cable car, a steam train or a horse and carriage in Matlock and Matlock Bath. Other nearby local attractions include the Crich Tramway Museum, Carsington Water which is a lovely spot for a picnic, Dovedale and the Tissington Trail, a 13 mile route starting in Ashbourne.
