Nearby, is The Bog Visitor Centre, nestled in the shadow of the Stiperstones and staffed by local helpers, happy to share their knowledge of the area. It also makes an ideal starting point for many walks around the National Nature Reserve and is noted for its warm welcome and local home baked refreshments. A short drive away is the English heritage town of Shrewsbury, with an imposing abbey, Shrewsbury Castle and the Shropshire Regimental Museum. There is also Attingham Park close by, along with Wroxeter Roman City, the museums at Ironbridge, and the castle and Michelin-starred restaurants of Ludlow.
