The property
This lovely annexe, attached to the owner's home, sits amongst the stunning countryside of the Quantock Hills (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) in the small hamlet of Triscombe near Taunton in Somerset. Stable Cottage is a welcoming ground-floor property, with views of the Quantock Hills and the Vale of West Somerset. It is ideal for a couple or small family with a dog, looking for a relaxing rural retreat in Somerset, with plenty of exceptional walks nearby, and several pubs within walking distance. Enter the property to find a kitchen/living room, with 2 sofas to relax onto whilst enjoying watching the TV or admiring your incredible view, while the well-equipped kitchen provides you with all the tools you need to cook up a delicious meal, which can be enjoyed at the folding table (seats 4). The property has two bedrooms, a master double with a dressing table and lovely garden views, plus a single room. Both rooms are served by the family bathroom, which offers a shower over the bath. Outside is a lovely, enclosed rear garden with a lawn and furniture, ideal for sitting out with a morning tea or coffee and soaking up the incredible view, while parking is available at the front of the property for one car, with further parking nearby. It also sits near the Quantock Greenway footpath, which is visible from the property and offers a choice of walks, taking in pretty villages and scenic countryside along the way. The town of Taunton is less than ten miles away; rich with religious and military history, offering an Anglo-Saxon Castle, a museum, and a selection of parks and excellent shopping facilities. Local shopping is available at Bishops Lydeard or Williton. The popular West Somerset steam railway also runs from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead. Somerset's coastline is within easy reach, with a choice of lovely family-friendly beaches, including Doniford and Kilve and you can take advantage of being close to the Exmoor National Park, where you can enjoy walks through moorland, woodland and along the coast, joining the South West Coast Path and passing attractions and landmarks that include the National Trust's Dunster Castle and Watersmeet, plus the prehistoric rock formations of the Valley of Rocks. There is a wealth of opportunity to explore the outdoors from Stable Cottage, offering visitors the best of the coast and countryside of Somerset and the surrounding area.
