The property

Tucked away in Gilwern, Abergavenny, is this superb four-bedroom, 17th-century barn conversion, Maes Y Berllan Barn. Enjoying a fantastic location surrounded by the Black Mountains and within the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons National Park), as well as an interior filled with original features including exposed beams and vaulted ceilings, Maes Y Berllan Barn is a wonderful, family-friendly dwelling sleeping ten, plus their two canine companions, who are looking to escape to this beautiful region. Step into the spacious and well-equipped kitchen/diner, where you can look forward to rustling up delicious feasts for your loved ones, with the help of the Rangemaster with electric oven and hob, microwave, 60/40 fridge/freezer, as well as a handy dishwasher and washing machine for keeping your space tidy. Serve up a flavourful meal at the dining table for ten in the living/dining room, or if the weather is nice, why not fire up the barbecue in the large, enclosed garden and dine alfresco? As the evening cools, retreat to the sitting room, where you can relax on the variety of plush sofas, two of which are sofa beds for accommodating four additional guests, whilst enjoying a family movie night courtesy of the Smart TV, as the wood burning stove crackles nearby. A tumble dryer can be found in the laundry/drying room for your convenience. Completing the ground floor is a super-king-size bedroom with zip/link beds, served by a wet room shower with disabled access, ideal for those with limited mobility. Climb the stairs to the first floor, where you will find a gallery with two armchairs, a perfect spot for escaping with a good book. On this floor you will discover three additional bedrooms, a super-king-size with en-suite shower room, a super-king-size with single, and a super-king-size with single day bed, all the bedrooms have zip/linked beds ensuring ample sleeping arrangements for all parties. Explore your local surroundings where you will find two welcoming pubs nearby, The Beaufort and The Corn Exchange, both offering tasty menus and local ales, perfect for when you fancy a night off from the kitchen! Your excellent location within the National Park means you have easy access to a wealth of excellent walking and cycling trails, as well as bird watching and even trout and salmon fishing in the River Usk. Be sure to hike up the Sugarloaf, one of the highest peaks in the Black Mountains, which offers incomparable views at its top or down into the Usk Valley.
