Towy Cottage – A Peaceful Family Getaway Near the Sea
Just 2 miles from the pretty village of Cenarth and less than 15 minutes from the stunning beaches of Cardigan Bay, Towy Cottage is a perfect base for a relaxing family holiday. Set at the end of a small row of cottages on a former farm, this charming stone cottage offers a warm, countryside feel with plenty of space to unwind.
Inside, the cottage features a cosy living and dining area with a woodburning stove, comfy seating, and a Smart TV. The dining table seats six – great for family meals or board games. The kitchen is bright and cheerful, with everything you need to cook up something tasty. Upstairs, there are two double bedrooms and one twin room, plus a light-filled family bathroom. A handy cloakroom is also located on the ground floor.
Outside, enjoy meals in the fresh air at the outdoor dining area or soak in the private hot tub while watching the sunset. The large garden is perfect for kids to play, and guests also have access to shared facilities including a Games Room, Play Area, Football Field, and a small Golf Range (open May to September). There’s also outdoor Chess, Table Tennis, a barbecue area, and a small info studio. And don’t forget to say hello to Stan and Ned, the friendly donkeys!

The surrounding area is full of charm and natural beauty. Cenarth is famous for its picturesque waterfalls and historic coracle fishing. You can visit the National Coracle Centre to learn about this unique tradition. The village also has a riverside pub and scenic walks along the River Teifi.
A short drive takes you to Cardigan Bay, known for its sandy beaches, dolphin spotting, and quaint seaside towns like New Quay and Aberporth. Enjoy coastal walks along the Ceredigion Coast Path, explore hidden coves, or take a boat trip to see marine wildlife.
Nearby Cardigan town offers independent shops, cafes, and the historic Cardigan Castle, while nature lovers will enjoy the Welsh Wildlife Centre in Cilgerran. For a fun family day out, try canoeing on the Teifi, visiting local farms, or exploring the Preseli Hills just a bit further inland.
