The property
Raglan 5.8 miles. A fabulous converted bull pen, The Comfy Cow commands outstanding views over the Black Mountains and the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons), sitting in a quiet and serene location in Llansoy near Raglan in Monmouthshire. A romantic retreat for two awaits with an unspoilt landscape to provide the background to your couples adventure. Completed to a high quality specification and decorated with quirky cow-themed touches throughout, The Comfy Cow is a joy to stay in. Glass doors open out from the open-plan living space where you can prepare a meal for two in the sleek kitchen, dine at the country style breakfast table or relax on the sofa to watch the wall-mounted Smart TV. Step out onto the patio in the morning with a cup of coffee and wake up with the world. The patio is complete with outdoor furniture and a charcoal barbecue/fire pit to keep you warm in the evening. The bedroom which holds a king-size bed has a rustic exposed beam and exposed brick walls, original features of this farm building, paired perfectly with the vibrant interior furnishings. Adjoined to the bedroom is the spacious bathroom, complete with a separate bath and walk-in shower, basin, WC and a heated rail to keep your towel toasty, before you slip into the luxury dressing gowns provided by the owner. There are many fantastic walks and cycle routes straight from the door, with bikes able to be stored in the shed provided for guests. Five castles are situated within the surrounding area; Chepstow has the oldest stone built castle in the land, and Tintern is home to its majestic Tintern Abbey with its stunning setting on the banks of the River Wye. The river offers a perfect way to explore by walking or cycling alongside it, meeting the River Severn down at Chepstow. Monmouthshire is the food capital of Wales and as such you are never far from a wealth of good eateries and farm shops; head to the market towns of Monmouth and Abergavenny to sample some of the local produce or enjoy a drink. For an idyllic spot for two, The Comfy Cow is the perfect pick for a break in South Wales.
