There are many fantastic walks and cycle routes straight from the door, with bikes able to be stored in the shed provided for guests. Five castles are situated within the surrounding area; Chepstow has the oldest stone built castle in the land, and Tintern is home to its majestic Tintern Abbey with its stunning setting on the banks of the River Wye. The river offers a perfect way to explore by walking or cycling alongside it, meeting the River Severn down at Chepstow. Monmouthshire is the food capital of Wales and as such you are never far from a wealth of good eateries and farm shops; head to the market towns of Monmouth and Abergavenny to sample some of the local produce or enjoy a drink.
