The property

This lovely, quaint cottage of Garden Cottage, lies adjacent to the manor house and is surrounded by beautiful woodland and enticing landscapes. The Garden Cottage is traditional and quirky, being ideal for couples or a small family to retreat here for a peaceful getaway. On the ground floor, you can find the neat kitchen, home to the essential appliances you need to cook up some delicious meals from breakfast through to dinner. Head into the dining room and gather around the table to serve up the evening’s menu or enjoy a board game with a little bit of healthy competitiveness! This delightful space is benefited by a woodburning stove, perfect for warming you on a chillier evening. Also on this floor, you will come to the bedrooms, with the master bedroom hosting a king-size bed and continuing the quaint cottage theme with carefully chosen pieces of furniture and simple décor. The second room is a lovely bunk room which can sleep two adults, a good use of the space, and allowing more friends and family to join you on your Pembrokeshire adventure. Completing this floor is the bathroom, which holds a bath with a shower over, so you can either indulge in a soak or wake up with a refreshing shower to start your day; the choice is yours. Follow the stairs up to the unique lounge area where you will look forward to returning to after a day out and about, put your feet up on the plush sofa, and curl up with a book, or flick on the TV for some downtime. Full of character with its low ceilings and painted beams, you can see views out to the surrounding countryside from the windows, a gorgeous sight, while the Velux window in the roof floods in natural light, making this a great place to unwind. Make the most of this beautiful rural location, especially when the weather is nice, and sit out on the picnic bench for lunch or fire up the barbecue. The Garden Cottage also comes with access to the extensive and outstanding Gellideg Gardens, boasting beautiful views of the distant hills of the Gower peninsula, you can spend a whole day just roaming this landscape on your doorstep. Head into the village of Kidwelly to find your nearest amenities with several pubs and shops, so you can pick up the essentials or treat yourself to a meal out if you want a night off, while the Red Lion in Llandyfaelog is well worth visiting too for some truly delicious meals. Kidwelly boasts a 12th-century priory church and one of Wales’ best castles, Kidwelly Castle, a preserved Norman-era castle and fortress, so visit for the chance to learn some local history through exhibits and sometimes even costumed events. Nearby Pembrey Country Park offers an array of outdoor activities, and Cefn Sidan Beach provides the perfect base for family fun or sunbathing. Venture out to discover the delights of Tenby, hosting even more impressive beaches, a picturesque harbour, and plenty of history awaiting to be discovered on a ghost walk, while those seeking a more challenging ramble should be sure to explore both the Wales Coast Path and Barafundle Bay. Family-friendly days out can be enjoyed at Folly Farm zoo & adventure park and the National Botanic Garden of Wales and British Bird of Prey Centre, while other attractions in the area worth visiting include the Gower beaches , including Oxwich and Rhossili (one of the top ten in the world!).
