Two double bedrooms, the family bathroom and a small games room complete the ground floor accommodation at this Gilwern cottage. Then, head up the oak stairs straight into a large bedroom tucked in the eaves offering flexible sleeping arrangements, this is ideal as a hideaway for a couple or for the children to enjoy peaceful time together. The owners, who live in the main house next to this Gilwern cottage, enjoy the outdoors and have provided a large paddock area with football goals for the young at heart to expend some energy with a game of football, cricket or rounders maybe. Others, however, may prefer to simply sit and watch, soaking up the scenic backdrop of fields and hills. Days out walking and cycling on countryside lanes, up the Sugarloaf Mountain, into the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) or along the canal will be an absolute delight during your stay at this Gilwern cottage. Play a round of golf, or travel a bit further to explore ancient castles, old mine museums and much more. Visit the nearby market town of Abergavenny to sample local produce all year round, and especially when one of its food festivals are running.
