The property
Corran Cottage is a delightful cottage resting in the rural outskirts of Laugharne, which has been lovingly renovated from a stone out-building to provide beautifully-presented, high quality accommodation throughout. Offering so much space and freedom to do as you please and set opposite the owner's home offering families the opportunity to explore South West Wales. Park off-road and be welcomed into this charming abode, discovering a kitchen/diner with ample amenities to cater for your culinary needs, and space to indulge in a hearty meal, and from here guests can head out to the patio, overlooking the river, where barbecues can be enjoyed on summer evenings. The sitting room boasts a woodburning stove that you can recline beside after a long day of exploring and enjoy a good book. Outside, there is a secure fenced area, half lawn, and half grassland and wildflowers, so why not relax and soak up the quiet surroundings in the private rear garden, whilst listening to the River Coran, and watching the wonderful wildlife? Despite its tranquil setting, a short walk from this South Wales cottage, you will find shops, pubs, and restaurants. Dylan Thomas’ famous boat house and the garage where many of his works were penned, is well worth a visit. The majestic castle looks out over the estuary, and a stroll along the shoreline is a delight at any time of year. The local beaches are dog-friendly, all year round, and there is an exceptional network of footpaths in the area surrounding this cottage near Laugharne, including a two-acre wild garden and woodland, which you are more than welcome to enjoy and explore, across the bridge over the River Coran. Why not venture a little further to enjoy sandy, dog-friendly beaches, historic castles, theme parks, or a steam railway ride? The property is also within reach of the incredible scenery of the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park, and Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, leaving you spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing a hike in both the pretty and rugged scenery. The delights of Corran Cottage will encourage you to return again and again to Sir Gaerfyrddin.
