The property
Nestled in the heart of the quaint, rural village of Tomintoul, Banffshire, is this charming holiday cottage, Otakaro. Located in the idyllic Cairngorms National Park, this property is perfect for families or even friends sharing, boasting gorgeous countryside views and a wealth of on-site amenities. Inside, be sure to utilise the fully-fitted kitchen/diner, which serves as the social hub of the house. Prepare tasty meals with your loved ones before settling down at the dining table, where you can catch up on the day's events by the warmth of the woodburning stove. When you're finished eating, race to the upstairs sitting room to enjoy a film on the Smart TV, with the backdrop of the surrounding Scottish landscape transporting you to a state of pure relaxation. When sleep calls, retire to one of three plush bedrooms, all tastefully-decorated and perfect for unwinding in. Awaken to a refreshing shower before enjoying a coffee in the southeast facing patio with decking and furniture. A short walk into Tomintoul Square will provide you with a delightful choice of shopping and information - check out the Discovery Centre then maybe enjoy a dram and some pub grub at the Richmond Arms. At the top of the village across from the Glenlivet Estate offices is one of the best adventure playgrounds suitable for all ages including the young at heart!. Grantown-On-Spey is a short drive away and is home to the Grantown Museum, ideal for history buffs, and nearby Nethy Bridge has a lovely golf course. The acclaimed Glenlivet bike trails are right on the doorstep an even have E-bikes for hire, with an awesome cafe for coffee and cake afterwards. Why not head up to the Moray coast for a day out where you can spot dolphins and enjoy gorgeous beaches, quiet coves or soaring cliffs. If it’s mountains you’re after Braemar and Aviemore are an easy drive away, or if you want to leave the car behind, put your boots on at Otakaro and head up Glen Avon into the heart of the Cairngorms. Whatever holiday you’re after, rest and relaxation or high energy activity, you will find it here.
