There is also the excellent 18-hole Lewes Golf Club which boasts picturesque views from its fairways. If you fancy a day of seaside fun, make the drive over to Brighton, where you can enjoy the amusements speckled along Brighton Palace Pier, tour the Brighton Museum & Art Gallery, or spend a day bathing on Brighton Beach, where you can also take part in a range of beach activities including volleyball, beach rugby and climbing. Those seeking wildlife-rich walks and impressive views can head further into the South Downs National Park, where you will find a wide variety of nature reserves, scenic hikes and the Lewes Brooks which is an SSSI managed by the RSPB. For more coastal fun, Eastbourne with its miniature steam railway and beautiful beach plus its art gallery, theatre and concert hall, along with Hastings and its bustling pier and historic castle await.
