Boasting the best views in the glen, The Lodge, a large rustic Swiss-style wooden house, sits above the valley floor on the sunny side of Strathglass between the villages of Struy and Beauly in the Highlands of Scotland.This charming retreat offers a toasty woodburning stove as part of its log cabin chic, setting it apart from standard Scottish holiday cottages.
Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, The Lodge is the perfect escape for families and groups of friends seeking a spacious, secluded and highly appointed getaway in the heart of the Highland countryside.Step inside The Lodge and be greeted by a roomy and inviting atmosphere, starting with the large kitchen & dining area complete with a breakfast bar, dining table, and all the essentials needed to create heartwarming meals for special occasions and family gatherings. Adjacent to the kitchen is a convenient utility room equipped with a washing machine and drying racks. Relax in the large sitting room, featuring ample seating, a woodburning stove, and a large TV for movie nights or quiet evenings in.The sitting room has French doors opening out to a covered porch and large lawn with superb views to the mountains of Glen Strathfarrar.
Upstairs, a snug on the landing provides a large space with bean bags perfect for relaxing in front of the 75 inch TV. The property boasts three well-appointed en-suite bedrooms to enjoy your night's rest. Upstairs are two very large bedrooms.The Mountain Room offers a super-king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower. The River Room is a twin, which can also be a super-king, and it also enjoys an en-suite bathroom with shower. Downstairs is another generous bedroom - the Meadow Room - with king-size bed, also with an en-suite bathroom with a bath (shower over).Step outside to the garden at the rear of the house, where you will find a covered decking area and a spacious lawn on the sunny side of the valley and barely another building to be seen, creating a serene backdrop for relaxing outdoors.Guests of the cottage now also have a Scandinavian BBQ hut available to them free of charge and shared with the owners’ family and the other cottages.It sits on a deck with superb views over the glen, It is fully equipped with all the charcoal and BBQing accessories you might need.All you need to bring are your own sausages.Strathglass, near Beauly in the beautiful Scottish Highlands, is an utterly charming, rural retreat waiting to be explored. With mountains towering to the west, this quiet wooded glen has the stunning river Glass running through it and a wealth of wildlife, providing an idyllic setting for nature lovers.It is the gateway to the National Nature Reserve at Glen Affric, and the hill walkers Mecca of Glen Strathfarrar. Red kites, ravens and buzzards are seen from the house daily and pine martens, badgers, otters, beavers, red and roe deer and much more wildlife lives here too. Within a few minutes of your doorstep you can set out on numerous scenic walks and cycling opportunities that roam the vibrant countryside. There are also opportunities for canoeing, pony-trekking, loch cruises and dolphin-watching boat trips. The nearby village of Beauly offers several quaint shops, local eateries, and traditional pubs where you can sample Highland hospitality at its finest. Venture further to explore the vast, magical landscapes of the Scottish Highlands, where towering mountains, deep glittering lochs, and lush valley floors lead to a journey of memorable adventures. The Lodge is a rustic Swiss-style abode set in the valleys of Struy near Beauly in Highland, enjoying a woodburning stove and overlooking the River Beauly. Inverness 19 miles.
