Balmacara.Dornie is also home to the world famous Eilean Donan Castle which is well worth a visit and the visitor centre not only sells gifts but also has a very good cafe. The bustling village of Kyle of Lochalsh is some 11 miles west and provides enhanced shopping opportunities. The area is exceptionally pretty and attracts many visitors throughout the year and this cottage makes an excellent base for exploring the west coast villages and crossing the bridge to the magical Isle of Skye for a lovely day out.
